Let’s Put  Attention On Your Intention

What’s your intention for the year 2020? Do you have a clear view of what your resolutions for this new year? Are these resolutions actually attainable?

Imagine a mental image of what the future will or could be like. I have always said this saying to myself and have instilled in my children, “Create A Vision, If You Can See It, You Can Attain It”

This is such a positive way of not just dreaming or wishing for something to happen, but alas a way of setting a plan, a goal that will reinforce the power of suggestion!

Live In The Present

First we need to transform ourselves. The question is how? Easier said than done, right? Let’s simplify this.

Let go! Get rid of the old bad habits. Declutter your mind and simply LET GO! Get rid of emotional baggage, all the unresolved issues, and all the bad past experiences. Things that no longer have meaning. What impacts your life right now is the present time you are in.

Understand The Problem

I’m a deep thinker. I analyze everything, so when it comes to dealing with problems I need to dissect it. A problem could be as simple as a negative feeling that you can’t seem to shake off. Many scenarios could create simple problems that sometimes feels like the weight of the world is on your shoulders.

But perhaps if we took a step back and took a look at the big picture the outcome would be much better. I always go with my pros and cons. When I’m about to do or say something the question that I always ask myself is, “What am I going to gain from it?”  This puts balance in me. It’s not easy to clearly understand a lot of things but in life I’ve learned to pick my battles. This I believe! Half of the solution to any problem is understanding it first.

Breathe

A lot of times when we are faced with life’s challenges we are quick to react and our emotions override it all.

Nobody is perfect. It doesn’t mean that just because I am more aware of myself and the different behaviors I encounter I’ve got it all figured out. Over the years I have read books about self help and I continue to read and listen to podcasts on spirituality as well.

I’ve come to realize that the only difference between all of us is how we deal with our own issues.

We all have issues. Different levels, magnitude, vastness, but for whatever the extent of our issues – we are all in the same boat. How we control our emotions and guard our thoughts from negativity is a trait we all have to learn and exercise. I have analyzed myself when I would react based on what the other person has acted. Just like physics. “The law of action-reaction”

So again, we cannot always control the feelings we have but we can control how we relate to those feelings. Don’t let your emotions control your mind, it will only wrap you in a tight ball of stress and regret.

By taking a pause and taking that deep breathe we are creating space. When we focus on our breathing we can’t think of other thoughts and that’s the beauty of it. That space we just created allows us to program ourselves the way we want ourselves to think and act. So breathe!

Open To Change

So till this day I continue to analyze a lot of things,  why I act the way I do, why I react to certain things and how it affects me. And by doing this it helps me understand myself even better. Because we are constantly evolving. So we need to be open to change. Open our minds to possibilities and learn to be flexible with it.

Remember, “Blessed are the flexible, for they cannot be broken” it is a saying an old friend of mine said to me in my early twenties.

I am now in my 50’s. And in my midlife, I am experiencing a lot of changes. My children are grown and the house is quieter than it used to be. It is sad but it is also a chance to focus on “me”.

 It’s All A Mindset

The mind is such a powerful contributor to our emotions. Training it in a way to direct and redirect thoughts is what every individual has to learn to obtain control of your emotions. It isn’t easy because we are all human. We will cry, we will experience defeat, failure, and regret. But we also have the power to turn it all around. The power to change the course of our mindset.

Here’s an example of my very own mindset.

I went back to the workforce in 2016. I’ve worked erratic hours from early mornings, late evenings and weekends as well. People would ask me how I do it. It’s mind boggling to a lot of them who knows that I have to wake up at 4 am to be at work. I look at it as a mindset.

There’s nothing to it if you set your mind to it.

Clarity

So that being said, 20/20 is having the perfect vision and with this year 2020 I wish us all clarity that will shape our reality.

Namaste!
