As we get older, most of us don’t have the time to put thought into what we are going to wear – day in and day out. There is a level of comfort, and just simplifying life in your 50’s when it comes to fashion. It really all depends on each preference. Our personalities play a big role in our sense of style.

Some of us need help with our wardrobe. We need to know the pieces of clothing we already own and how to incorporate new ones to give old clothes a fresh look!

I dress according to my mood. There are times when I just feel like wearing a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt, and there are times when I want to spruce up!

Accessorize, Accessorize, Accessorize!

Your pocketbook, your scarf, your hat, a pair of sunglasses…..all of these items could alter an outfit.

There is truth to that. I find that even if it’s a plain white T-shirt, or a black top ….if you have the right accessory and the right attitude- you’ll be strutting like a million bucks!

Have you heard of the saying, “It’s not what you wear, it’s how you wear it.” See even the most expensive designer clothes can look unflattering if you don’t know how to carry it.

Let fashion boost your CONFIDENCE!

Don’t be afraid of bold colors or feel that you have to wait for an important event to get dressed.

“Dress For Success!”

My mother used to tell me…..”Dress for no one but yourself.” I remember being asked by my neighbors back then… (now, they are all used to me lol)

“Rachel…where are you going?” I say…..

“I’m going to go food shopping.” Or I’ll say …

“Nowhere really, just dressed for the day!” And mind you, not only am I dressed from head to toe, I put on my face. ????‍♀️

If I’m not dressed the way that it satisfies me, I feel and look sick. I look at other women who take the time to look their best and I have the utmost respect for them. I believe that you draw good positive vibes to yourself and give out that same energy to others when this is the kind of attitude you have. Here’s another saying…

“Look Good, Feel Good”

If you enjoy dressing up, it will definitely show. The glow from within you will attract and bring inspiration to others. The clothes you wear are your own personal expression. So have fun with it!

Here are some Fun Picks that I would like to share.

I would like to thank my best friend, Mona Rai for being my stylist on this photo shoot. Having a friend that also helps you go beyond your fashion comfort zone is a tremendous plus in being creative in your style. My friend Mona is so talented! She has an amazing photographic eye, and has taken these wonderful pictures.

We all have a sense of style. Unleash it and just have fun with fashion!
